Project Overview

Launching an NFT project isn’t as simple as minting digital artwork.

Behind every successful NFT drop is a complex process—deploying contracts, managing collections, setting up sales, building a storefront, and distributing assets across marketplaces. For many creators, this meant juggling multiple platforms, tools, and workflows just to bring a single project to life.

Refinable began as one of the first NFT marketplaces built on the Binance Smart Chain, helping creators mint and trade digital collectibles. As the ecosystem grew, so did the needs of creators. Many weren’t just looking for a place to sell NFTs—they needed a way to manage their entire project from start to finish.

This led to the creation of the Refinable Creator Suite—a dedicated platform designed to simplify the NFT creation journey.

The Creator Suite brings together everything creators need in one place: minting NFTs, managing collections, launching sales campaigns, and building branded storefronts. Instead of relying on multiple disconnected tools, creators can run their entire NFT project through a single, streamlined platform—without writing any code.

As the Product Designer, I led the design of the Creator Suite experience. I was responsible for crafting the user flows, wireframes, interface design, and interactive prototypes, while collaborating closely with the Product Manager and engineering team to shape the product and ensure the experience balanced powerful functionality with simplicity.

The goal was ambitious: transform a fragmented and technical NFT creation process into an intuitive platform that creators of any experience level could use.

The Challenge

Challenges.webp

As the NFT ecosystem rapidly expanded, launching an NFT project became increasingly complex for creators.

While tools existed to support certain parts of the process—such as minting NFTs or deploying contracts—there was no unified platform that supported the entire project lifecycle. Creators often had to piece together multiple tools and services just to launch and manage a single collection.

Through research and discussions with creators, several key challenges became clear.

Fragmented Tools Across the NFT Workflow

Launching an NFT project typically required creators to move between multiple platforms.

A common workflow involved minting NFTs on one platform, managing contracts on another, launching sales campaigns elsewhere, and building storefronts through additional services. Each tool served a specific purpose, but none connected seamlessly with one another.

This fragmented setup forced creators to constantly switch platforms just to manage different parts of the same project.

Operational Complexity for Creators

Because each platform had its own interface, processes, and technical requirements, creators had to spend significant time learning different systems and managing multiple dashboards.

Instead of focusing on building their community or developing their project, creators were often burdened with operational tasks and platform management.

For newcomers to Web3, this complexity could become a major barrier to entry.

Limited Control Over Branding and Distribution

Many NFT platforms focused primarily on minting and trading, offering limited flexibility for creators to present their projects in a unique way.

Creators often wanted the ability to showcase their collections through branded storefronts, curated experiences, and customized sales campaigns, but existing tools rarely supported this level of personalization.

As a result, creators struggled to build a cohesive identity for their NFT projects.

Challenges2.webp

Disconnected Marketing and Sales Experiences

Marketing and distribution were often handled outside of the minting platforms themselves.

Creators had to rely on separate tools for launching presales, managing whitelist campaigns, or promoting their collections. This disconnected process made it difficult to coordinate launches effectively and often resulted in a disjointed experience for both creators and collectors.

Together, these challenges revealed a clear gap in the ecosystem: creators needed a centralized platform that could support the entire NFT project journey—from creation to launch and distribution.

This insight became the foundation for the Refinable Creator Suite.

Design Goals

Design Goals.webp

Based on the challenges identified during research and competitive analysis, our goal was to design a platform that could simplify the NFT creation journey while still providing the flexibility creators needed to run successful projects.

The design of the Creator Suite focused on several key objectives.

Unify the NFT Project Workflow

Creators needed a single platform where they could manage the entire lifecycle of their NFT projects.

One of our primary goals was to consolidate previously fragmented tools—such as NFT minting, collection management, campaign launches, and storefront customization—into one cohesive platform. By bringing these workflows together, creators could manage their projects without constantly switching between multiple services.

Reduce Technical Barriers for Creators

Many NFT tools were built with technically experienced users in mind, often requiring knowledge of smart contracts or complex setup processes.

A key goal for the Creator Suite was to make NFT creation accessible to a wider range of users, including independent artists and creators with little technical experience. The platform needed to provide powerful capabilities while removing the need for coding or advanced technical knowledge.

Balance Powerful Features with Simplicity

While creators required robust tools to manage their projects, presenting too many options at once risked overwhelming users—especially those new to Web3.

The design challenge was to create an interface that exposed powerful functionality while maintaining clarity and ease of use. This meant carefully structuring the platform’s navigation and organizing features in a way that felt intuitive rather than complex.

Enable Creator Branding and Ownership

Creators wanted more than just a place to mint NFTs—they wanted control over how their projects were presented and distributed.

Another goal was to allow creators to build customized storefronts and branded experiences, giving them the ability to showcase collections, manage sales campaigns, and maintain a consistent identity across their projects.

Support the Full NFT Launch Lifecycle

Launching an NFT project involves multiple stages, from collection creation and minting to presales, public launches, and ongoing distribution.

The Creator Suite needed to support this entire journey by providing tools that allowed creators to manage campaigns, configure sales phases, and distribute NFTs through both the Refinable Marketplace and their own storefronts.

Design Process

Design Goals2.webp

Designing the Creator Suite required more than simply adding new features to the existing platform. The challenge was to rethink how NFT creators manage their entire project lifecycle and translate that into a unified, easy-to-use platform.

To achieve this, the design process focused on understanding the creator journey, identifying gaps in existing tools, and gradually shaping a product that could bring multiple workflows together into a single cohesive experience.

Understanding the NFT Creator Journey

Before diving into solutions, it was important to understand how creators were currently launching NFT projects.

Through research insights gathered by our Product Manager and discussions with creators, we mapped the typical lifecycle of an NFT project—from creating collections and minting NFTs to launching campaigns and distributing assets across marketplaces.

This helped us identify where creators experienced the most friction, particularly when switching between different tools to manage different parts of the process.

By visualizing the entire journey, we were able to pinpoint opportunities where a unified platform could significantly reduce complexity.

Competitive Analysis

To better understand the existing landscape, we analyzed several platforms that supported NFT creation and distribution.

While many tools successfully simplified NFT minting, most focused on only one part of the creator workflow. Features such as marketing campaigns, storefront management, and project distribution were often handled separately through additional services.

To identify these gaps more clearly, we mapped out several competing platforms and compared their capabilities across key creator needs—such as NFT minting, collection management, storefront creation, campaign launches, and marketplace distribution.

This comparison allowed us to visualize where existing platforms were strong and where opportunities existed for Refinable to provide a more complete solution.

Our goal became clear: instead of solving just one step of the process, the Creator Suite would support the entire NFT project lifecycle within a single platform.

Structuring a Unified Creator Platform

With a clearer understanding of the creator workflow and the competitive landscape, the next step was defining the structure of the Creator Suite itself.

Rather than designing isolated features, the goal was to create a platform where different tools naturally connected with one another. This meant organizing the suite around the core activities creators perform while managing their projects—such as overseeing collections, managing storefronts, and launching sales campaigns.

Designing the overall platform structure early helped ensure that each feature would feel like part of a cohesive system rather than a collection of disconnected tools.

Designing the Creator Experience

Once the platform structure was defined, I began designing the detailed user flows and interfaces for each part of the Creator Suite.

This included mapping how creators would create collections, mint NFTs, manage storefronts, and launch campaigns. The focus was on creating an experience that felt intuitive while still supporting the flexibility required for more advanced NFT projects.

Wireframes and interactive prototypes were developed to explore different interaction patterns and validate how these workflows would connect across the platform.

Iterating Through Engineering Collaboration

Because many features involved blockchain interactions and marketplace integrations, close collaboration with engineers was essential throughout the design process.

We regularly discussed technical constraints, feasibility, and implementation details to ensure that the designs could be built effectively while maintaining a smooth user experience.

This collaborative approach helped refine several interactions and ensured the final product balanced usability with the realities of building within a Web3 environment.

The Solution

To address the fragmented workflow creators faced, we designed the Refinable Creator Suite as a centralized platform that supports the entire NFT project lifecycle.

Instead of forcing creators to navigate multiple tools and platforms, the Creator Suite brings together everything needed to launch and manage an NFT project—from minting assets to running sales campaigns and building branded storefronts.

The goal was to transform what was previously a complicated, multi-platform process into a single, cohesive creator experience.

Creator Dashboard

Home.webp

Managing an NFT project involves more than simply creating digital assets. Creators need to monitor how their collections are performing, track engagement from collectors, and understand how their projects are evolving over time.

The Creator Dashboard was designed to act as the central hub of the Creator Suite, giving creators a clear overview of their project activity in one place.

The dashboard highlights key metrics such as collection performance, engagement trends, and marketplace activity through visual graphs and reports. These insights allow creators to quickly understand how their collections are performing without needing to dig through multiple tools or reports.

To make the platform more efficient, the dashboard also includes quick access to essential actions. From the home screen, creators can immediately begin tasks such as creating a collection, launching a storefront, or setting up a custom checkout campaign.

By combining project insights with quick actions, the dashboard helps creators stay informed while making it easy to move directly into the next step of managing their projects.

Creator Dashboard

Why This Matters

Before the Creator Suite, many creators had to rely on several different platforms to monitor their NFT projects. Performance data, sales activity, and campaign results were often spread across multiple dashboards.

This made it difficult for creators to quickly understand how their projects were performing or decide what steps to take next.

The Creator Dashboard simplifies this process by bringing the most important insights into one place. Instead of switching between tools, creators can immediately see how their collections are performing and take action directly from the same interface.

This allows creators to spend less time managing platforms and more time focusing on what matters most—growing their projects, engaging their communities, and planning their next release.

Collections & NFT Creation

MyCollections.webp

At the heart of every NFT project is the ability to create and organize digital assets into collections. For many creators, however, this process can quickly become technical and difficult to manage—often requiring knowledge of smart contracts or the use of multiple platforms.

Within the Refinable Creator Suite, collection creation and NFT minting were redesigned as a unified workflow. Instead of navigating different parts of the ecosystem, creators can manage the entire process within a single interface.

Creators can easily create new collections, define metadata, upload digital assets, and mint NFTs through a guided process designed to reduce technical friction. The platform removes the need for coding or blockchain expertise, making NFT creation accessible to a much wider range of users.

Beyond simply minting NFTs, the collection editor also allows creators to personalize their collections with branding elements such as avatars, banners, and descriptions. These customization options help creators establish a unique identity for their projects and make their collections more recognizable to collectors.

To further support project growth, creators can also link social media channels directly to their collections. This makes it easier for collectors to discover and connect with the communities behind each project.

By combining collection management, NFT creation, and branding tools into one streamlined workflow, the Creator Suite enables creators to focus on building their projects rather than navigating technical processes.

Why This Matters

For many creators entering the NFT space, the process of minting NFTs can feel intimidating. Traditional workflows often involve technical steps such as configuring smart contracts, preparing metadata, and using specialized tools to deploy assets on the blockchain.

This complexity can discourage creators who simply want to bring their ideas to life.

By simplifying collection creation and NFT minting into a guided, no-code experience, the Creator Suite removes many of these barriers. Creators can focus on developing their projects and artwork instead of worrying about technical implementation.

Bringing these tools into a single workflow also saves creators time. Instead of switching between platforms to manage collections and mint assets, everything can be handled in one place.

For creators launching multiple collections or managing ongoing projects, this streamlined experience makes the process of building and scaling their NFT projects significantly easier.

Marketplace Integration

Marketplace.webp

Once NFTs are created, the next step for creators is making their collections available to collectors. Distribution and visibility play a critical role in the success of any NFT project, which is why the Refinable Marketplace remains an important part of the ecosystem.

Within the Creator Suite, marketplace management tools were designed to make the process of listing and managing collections as simple as possible.

Creators can easily connect their collections to the Refinable Marketplace, allowing their NFTs to be discovered and traded by the wider community of collectors. Instead of navigating separate systems to manage listings, the Creator Suite allows creators to monitor and manage their marketplace presence directly from the same platform where they create their projects.

The goal was to remove unnecessary complexity from the distribution process. Rather than overwhelming creators with advanced configurations, the initial design focused on providing the most essential marketplace actions—such as accessing collection listings, monitoring activity, and connecting collections to the marketplace.

By integrating marketplace access into the Creator Suite, creators can move seamlessly from creating their NFTs to making them available to a global audience of collectors.

Marketplace Component.jpg

Marketplace Components

Why This Matters

For creators, launching an NFT project is only the first step—getting their work discovered by collectors is equally important.

Without a marketplace connection, creators would need to manually distribute their NFTs across different platforms, adding extra steps to an already complex workflow.

By integrating marketplace management directly into the Creator Suite, creators can publish and manage their collections without leaving the platform. This reduces friction during the launch process and makes it easier for creators to focus on promoting their projects rather than managing technical listings.

It also ensures that newly created collections can quickly reach an existing community of collectors within the Refinable ecosystem, increasing the chances of engagement and successful sales.

Storefront Builder

Storefront.webp

While marketplaces provide an important channel for NFT discovery and trading, many creators want greater control over how their projects are presented to their audiences. Relying solely on marketplace listings often limits how creators can showcase their collections, tell their project story, or build a distinct brand identity.

The Storefront Builder was designed to give creators the ability to launch their own branded NFT storefronts without needing development resources or coding knowledge.

Through the Creator Suite, creators can create a dedicated storefront where they showcase and sell their NFT collections in a more personalized environment. Instead of presenting NFTs as individual listings within a marketplace, storefronts allow creators to curate a complete project experience around their collections.

Creators can import multiple collections into a single storefront, configure custom domains, and manage how their NFTs are displayed to collectors. This allows creators to organize their projects in a way that aligns with their brand and makes it easier for collectors to explore their work.

To make customization intuitive, the storefront builder organizes editing tools into several focused sections:

  • Collections – Manage and add collections displayed in the storefront

  • Customization – Adjust themes, navigation items, hero sections, roadmaps, team information, and FAQs

  • Fees – Configure buyer transaction fees while ensuring creator earnings remain untouched

  • Preferences – Connect social media accounts and integrate analytics tools

  • Settings – Customize storefront identity such as name, logo, description, favicon, and domain

By bringing all of these elements together, the storefront builder allows creators to transform their NFT collections into fully developed digital projects with their own identity and presentation.

Storefront2.webp

Storefronts

Why This Matters

For many NFT creators, building a project goes beyond simply minting and selling digital assets. Creators often want to build a brand around their collections, share their vision with their community, and present their work in a more curated environment.

Traditional marketplaces rarely provide the flexibility needed for this level of personalization. Creators are often limited to standardized listing pages, which can make it difficult to differentiate their projects or communicate the broader story behind their collections.

The Storefront Builder gives creators the ability to present their projects on their own terms. By providing tools to customize the visual identity of their storefront, highlight project information, and organize collections in a meaningful way, creators can create a more engaging experience for their audience.

This level of ownership allows creators to strengthen their brand identity, build stronger relationships with their communities, and showcase their work in a way that feels more intentional and professional.

Custom Checkout Campaigns

Checkout.webp

Launching an NFT collection is often the most important moment for a creator’s project. Successful launches require careful coordination between marketing, community engagement, and the actual sales process.

To support this stage of the creator journey, we introduced Custom Checkout Campaigns within the Creator Suite.

Custom Checkout allows creators to launch dedicated NFT sales campaigns through a shareable checkout page. Instead of directing collectors through the traditional marketplace flow, creators can generate a unique campaign link where buyers can directly purchase NFTs.

This makes it easier for creators to promote their drops across social media, communities, and partnerships without requiring users to navigate through multiple marketplace pages.

Creators also have full control over how their campaigns are structured. The platform allows them to configure:

  • NFT pricing and supply

  • Minting limits per transaction

  • Total number of items available

  • Different launch phases such as Presale, Whitelist, and Public Sale

Additional campaign tools allow creators to manage important launch moments, such as revealing NFT items after purchase or closing campaigns once a drop has ended.

To support a wider range of audiences, the checkout system was also designed to simplify the purchase experience for collectors. By reducing friction in the buying process, creators can reach both experienced Web3 users and newcomers who may not be familiar with traditional NFT marketplaces.

By giving creators control over how their NFTs are launched and sold, Custom Checkout Campaigns allow them to run more strategic and engaging drops.

Why This Matters

For many creators, the success of an NFT project depends heavily on how the launch is executed. Drops often involve presale access for early supporters, whitelist campaigns for communities, and public sales for broader audiences.

Managing these different launch phases across multiple platforms can be complicated and difficult to coordinate.

Custom Checkout Campaigns simplify this process by allowing creators to manage their entire sales strategy from a single place. Instead of relying on separate tools for campaigns, payments, and distribution, creators can set up and control their launch directly within the Creator Suite.

This flexibility allows creators to design launch strategies that build anticipation, reward early supporters, and create stronger engagement with their communities.

For collectors, the simplified checkout experience also removes barriers during the purchase process. This helps creators reach a broader audience while making NFT drops easier to participate in.

Overcoming Challenges

Building the Refinable Creator Suite required close collaboration across product, engineering, and design. As we worked to bring multiple creator tools into a single platform, the team encountered several challenges that required thoughtful coordination, prioritization, and design decisions.

Aligning Product Vision Across Teams

The Creator Suite was a new direction for Refinable. While the company initially started as an NFT marketplace, the goal of the Creator Suite was to evolve the platform into a comprehensive toolset for NFT creators.

Because of this shift, the team had to carefully define what the platform should become and which features would provide the most value to creators.

Much of the early work involved discussions between product, operations, and design to align on priorities. Our Project Manager led user interviews with creators, gathering insights about their workflows and challenges, while I translated these insights into user flows and interface concepts.

This iterative collaboration helped us shape a clear product vision and ensure that each feature addressed real creator needs rather than simply adding more tools.

Designing an Entire Platform as a Solo Designer

At the time of the project, I was the only full-time product designer at Refinable. While we occasionally had support from a part-time designer for visual assets, the responsibility for designing the Creator Suite largely fell on me.

This meant owning the full design process—from early wireframes and user flows to high-fidelity UI and interactive prototypes. Because the Creator Suite introduced multiple new features, I needed to ensure that every part of the platform felt cohesive and consistent.

Working as the sole designer also meant collaborating closely with our Head of Product, Project Manager, Operations Manager, and engineers to validate ideas and refine requirements. These discussions helped ensure that design decisions aligned with both user needs and business goals.

Designing Within Technical Constraints

As with many Web3 products, the technical architecture introduced unique constraints that influenced design decisions.

Blockchain interactions, wallet integrations, and NFT minting processes often require additional steps compared to traditional web applications. These technical realities meant that certain interactions could not always be simplified as much as we initially hoped.

To address this, I worked closely with engineers throughout the design process to better understand these limitations and identify opportunities to simplify the user experience wherever possible.

This collaboration helped us design workflows that balanced technical requirements with usability, ensuring that creators could still complete complex tasks—such as minting NFTs or launching campaigns—through a clear and structured interface.

Prioritizing Features for the First Release

The Creator Suite introduced a wide range of capabilities, from collection management and storefronts to custom checkout campaigns.

However, building everything at once would have significantly delayed the launch.

As a team, we needed to prioritize which features were essential for the first version of the platform. This required careful decision-making between product, engineering, and design to determine what would deliver the most immediate value for creators.

By focusing on the most critical creator workflows first, we were able to launch the Creator Suite within a relatively short timeframe while leaving room to expand the platform in future iterations.

Impact & Results

Following the launch of the Refinable Creator Suite, the platform quickly began showing strong adoption among creators. By consolidating multiple tools into a single environment, the suite encouraged more creators to engage with the Refinable ecosystem and manage their NFT projects through the platform.

Within the first few months, the Creator Suite not only attracted new users but also significantly increased engagement compared to existing marketplace interactions.

One Month After Launch

Shortly after release, the Creator Suite began generating meaningful traction from creators exploring the new platform.

The suite accounted for 4% of total wallet connections across the platform, with a wallet connection rate that was nearly three times higher than the main marketplace. This suggested that creators visiting the suite were highly motivated to interact with the platform and manage their projects.

One of the most encouraging signals came from the adoption of storefronts. The storefront creation flow achieved a 33% conversion rate, indicating strong interest from creators in building their own branded NFT storefronts.

These early results showed that creators were actively exploring the new tools and beginning to use them to manage their projects.

Impact 1.jpg

Two Months After Launch

As awareness of the Creator Suite grew, adoption continued to increase.

By the second month, the suite accounted for 9% of total wallet connections, more than doubling its contribution from the previous month. The wallet connection rate also remained consistently three times higher than the marketplace, reinforcing that creators were highly engaged once they entered the platform.

Additional positive signals appeared across the product funnel. In particular, the collection import process saw improved conversion, suggesting that creators were increasingly using the suite to manage and migrate their projects.

Impact 2.jpg

Three Months After Launch

Three months after launch, the Creator Suite had become an increasingly important entry point within the Refinable ecosystem.

The platform contributed an additional 10% to total wallet connections, continuing to drive creator activity and traffic across the platform.

User behavior also revealed encouraging patterns of repeat engagement. Creators were connecting to their storefronts an average of 2.5 times, indicating that the suite was not just being explored once but was becoming a regular tool for managing NFT projects.

These results demonstrated that the Creator Suite was successfully supporting creators throughout their NFT project lifecycle while increasing overall platform engagement.

Impact 3.jpg

Reflection & Key Learnings

Working on the Refinable Creator Suite was one of the most meaningful experiences in my time as a product designer. The project challenged me to design a platform that combined multiple complex tools into a single experience while keeping the interface approachable for creators with varying levels of Web3 knowledge.

One of the biggest lessons from this project was learning how to simplify complex workflows without sacrificing important functionality. NFT creators often manage many aspects of a project—from minting assets and organizing collections to launching campaigns and building storefronts. Designing the Creator Suite required carefully structuring these tools so creators could move through their workflows naturally without feeling overwhelmed.

The project also reinforced the importance of strong cross-team collaboration. While I led the design work for the Creator Suite, its success depended on close collaboration with our Project Manager, Head of Product, Operations Manager, and engineering team. User insights gathered through creator interviews helped guide many design decisions, while regular discussions with engineers ensured that the experience we designed could be realistically implemented within the technical constraints of blockchain interactions.

For much of the project, I was also the sole product designer on the team, which meant owning the design process from early concepts to final implementation. This experience strengthened my ability to manage large design initiatives, prioritize effectively, and translate product ideas into cohesive user experiences.

Looking back, the Creator Suite represented an important step in evolving Refinable from a traditional NFT marketplace into a broader platform that supports creators throughout the lifecycle of their projects. Seeing creators use the platform to build collections, launch storefronts, and manage their NFT campaigns reinforced the impact that thoughtful product design can have in simplifying complex systems.

The lessons from this project continue to shape how I approach design today—focusing not only on building features, but on creating tools that empower users and make complex processes more accessible.
